Ingredients
For Balls
1. Paneer 1 cup grated
2. Boiled and mashed potatoes 1 cup
3. Grated fresh coconut / Desiccated coconut 1/2 cup(optional, but adds crunchiness)
4. Coriander chopped 1/2 cup
5. Green chillis chopped 5/6
7. Grated/chopped ginger 2 tsp
8. Salt
For coating and frying
1.All purpose flour/cornflour/rice flour 3 tsp (any one is fine as needed just for binding, i made it using rice flour).
2. Salt
3. Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp
4. Bread crumbs 1 cup
5. Oil
Following are simple steps.
1. Mix all the ingredients as required for balls and mix well together and form a soft dough like the one for chapati. There should not be any lumps of paneer or potato.
2. Roll balls on hand from the mixture.
.
3.Mix flour, salt, black pepper powder and add water to it to form very thin consistency batter. Now, dip the
balls into the batter.
4. Now roll the wet ball in bream crumbs so ball is coated with bread crumbs completely.Press crumbs on ball to make sure all bread crumbs stick properly to ball, remove excess crumbs if required.
Repeat step 3 and 4 for all balls. Then let the balls sit for 15 minutes.
5. Now heat oil and on high flame itself, fry all balls till golden brown. Do not reduce heat, as if you reduce heat, balls will consume more oil.
Thats it. Yummy Balls are ready. Enjoy with ketchup / sauce / chutney.
Tip : You can add kaju pieces / kismis in balls for tasty surprise :)
